The world’s largest: ultra large complex structure magnesium alloy die castings Hay:T02CQBA

Recently, under the guidance of Academician Pan Fusheng of CQ University, China CQ Magnesium Alloy Technology Center and CQBA Magnesium Aluminum Technology Corporation jointly developed and successfully trial produced magnesium alloy super large automotive die casting structural parts on 8800T die casting system.

This trial production includes two types of ultra large new energy vehicle structural components: integrated body castings and battery box covers, both of which have a projected area greater than 2.2 square meters. Compared to the original aluminum alloy casting, the two castings have reduced weight by 32%, demonstrating a huge potential for lightweight applications.

Researchers have overcome multiple technical bottlenecks during this trial production process, breaking through key technologies such as the design of high flowability and high-performance die-casting magnesium alloys, pure purification of large volume magnesium alloy melts, optimization of magnesium alloy structural component structure design and die-casting process, prediction and control of die-casting defects, etc., ensuring the trial production of high-quality and ultra large magnesium alloy structural components, laying the foundation for the large-scale production and promotion of application of ultra large magnesium alloy structural components.

China is a major country in magnesium resources, accounting for over 70% of the world's magnesium resources. It is also a major country in the research and production of magnesium materials and products. The production of magnesium and magnesium alloys has accounted for over 80% of the global proportion for more than ten consecutive years. Magnesium alloy is the lightest metal structural material, with a density only 2/3 that of aluminum alloy and 1/4 that of steel, making it one of the most promising lightweight metal materials. Meanwhile, magnesium and magnesium alloys are also one of the most promising energy storage materials.

The successful trial production of ultra large magnesium alloy structural components will strongly promote the further large-scale application of magnesium alloys in the field of large and complex structures, and contribute to the process of lightweight in automotive,Aeronautics and Astronautics industrieds.

CQBA specializes in the design, development, production and sales of magnesium alloy and aluminum alloy die-casting products, with a number of independent intellectual property rights

Magnesium alloy dashboard beams, seat frames, central control brackets, module end plates, battery trays, large-sized display backplates, and other large and thin-walled magnesium alloy products have achieved stable supply to multiple customers, providing lightweight product solutions for multiple domestic and foreign host manufacturers, effectively achieving product weight reduction.

Through this trial production, the company has accumulated valuable experience in the development and application of materials, product design and development, process implementation, safety production, and other related processes for large-sized magnesium alloy die-casting parts such as integrated body castings and battery box covers. This has verified the feasibility of realizing large-sized thin-walled magnesium alloy die-casting products, providing valuable guidance for automotive, architectural, and other industries The application and mass production of large-sized integrated magnesium alloy die castings in industries such as aerospace have laid a solid foundation.
