The world’s leading IC solutions provider Realtek said fab capacity is tight

On November 4th, Huang Yiwei, an executive of Realtek, a leading international semiconductor technology company, said a few days ago that the current fab capacity is fully loaded and he is worried that insufficient wafer capacity will affect the company's revenue.

Huang Yiwei said that part of the current supply in the third quarter comes from inventory. This situation is expected to continue in the fourth quarter. In response to the company's growth, in the future, it will increase the number of foundries other than TSMC and UMC to expand supply capacity. .

Regarding the price increase of fabs, Huang Yiwei said that the current market supply is tight and suppliers have more bargaining power, but Realtek will discuss with customers and fabs, and the impact on gross profit margin will be relatively controllable.

Realtek's cumulative revenue in the first September of this year reached NT 55.675 billion (approximately RMB 13 billion), a year-on-year increase of 26.36%.

Realtek Semiconductor was established in 1987. Its business includes design, testing and sales of various types of application integrated circuits. The chairman is Ye Nanhong and the number of employees is about 5,400.
