Tokyo district court rules Tachibana and other companies selling Everlight LEDs have infringed Nichia patents

About Nichia Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “ Nichia Chemical '') for the import and sale of Taiwan to Tachikawa Electronics Co., Ltd. The patent infringement lawsuit filed by LED manufacturer Everlight Electronics Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Everlight) for blue-light LEDs was ruled by the Tokyo District Court on October 14, 2016, deciding that Tachibana Corporation and E & E Corp. The import and sale of LEDs has infringed on the patent rights of Nichia Chemicals.

The Tokyo District Court held that the sale of Tachibana and E & E's blue-light LEDs (product model: 1254 series and 7344 series) made by Everlight has infringed Nichia ’s Japanese patent No. 2780618; the ruling was issued and Tachibana was ordered. The company and E & E company shall compensate Nichia for the damage it has suffered.

Nichia Chemicals continues to seek protection of patents and other intellectual property rights, and takes action against infringers worldwide when appropriate and necessary.
