The leading international travel and lifestyle brand TUMI has launched a new series of products designed and developed in cooperation with the luxury super car manufacturer and the Formula One team McLaren. Since the two companies announced their joint cooperation in 2019, TUMI creative director Victor Sanz and McLaren supercar design director Rob Melville have joined hands to create a series of excellent and elegant products for business, travel and daily necessities. Each piece is designed to eliminate complexity while enhancing the performance of all aspects of life in sports.
From automobiles to sports, the common vision of the two brands is to continuously pursue a higher level of excellence, which is reflected in the meticulously designed details and material selection of the McLaren Creative TUMI series. This series embodies the luxury spirit shared by TUMI and McLaren, including nine pieces in total. Each model contains McLaren`s stylish, bold supercars and racing elements, all in McLaren’s signature Papaya papaya color and decorated with CX6® carbon fiber.
Key travel items include Aero International Expandable four-wheel cabin and Quantum Duffel travel bag. The cabin is made of Tegris ® (an extremely hard thermoplastic composite material used in racing cars) mixed materials. The hard shell is paired with a molded fabric front panel. Such a durable structure allows the product to protect the items it carries, while having other elements of the McLaren super car design. The box is equipped with a retractable belt, which draws inspiration from racing cars such as the six-point racing car and the limited edition McLaren Senna GTR.
The Velocity Backpack is equipped with a USB port and a padded laptop compartment, allowing travellers to stay connected throughout the day. TUMI's iconic "Add-A-Bag" luggage trolley cover is the perfect accessory for this series of products.
