Turkish composites manufacturer Kordsa acquires ceramic matrix composites (CMC) maker Axiom Materials

Kordsa Corporation announced that it has completed the acquisition of US-based Axiom Materials for $ 181 million. The completion of the acquisition paves the way for Kordsa to become the only qualified oxide ceramic matrix composite manufacturer in the world.

Kordsa previously joined forces with the Center for Excellence in Composites Technology to formally enter the advanced composites industry and co-founded Sabanci University. Kordsa provides advanced composite materials for the aerospace industry through fiber research and development, textile products and advanced honeycomb structure technology acquired in 2018, expanding the company's production and application areas. This time through the acquisition of Axiom Materials, Kordsa has completed its first phase of goal and became the only qualified oxide ceramic matrix composite manufacturer in the world. Axiom Materials' high value-added oxide ceramic matrix composites for aircraft engines have different applications in various industries and are considered future materials. This acquisition is crucial to Kordsa's future development strategy and to enhance competitiveness in high-growth areas, and it will significantly enhance Kordsa's potential to develop new products in the future.
