Due to the continuous growth of the electric vehicle market, the demand for electric vehicle batteries and charging tests has increased significantly. Many car companies hope to find trusted third-party laboratories to improve the safety of their battery products. Based on the above background, UL Battery Lab will help auto companies and suppliers manage the safety risks and quality of batteries, and improve battery safety.

At the same time, the laboratory will also provide UL's expertise in the fields of energy and network security, V2G (vehicle to grid) charging, grid integration, battery reuse, energy storage systems, and functional safety services. All of the above will be provided by a Independent laboratory to complete. After the completion of the UL battery laboratory, it will help UL customers shorten the R & D cycle and improve product competitiveness.

The UL battery laboratory was located in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, China. UL stated that the establishment of the laboratory will further expand UL's testing functions and deepen cooperation with the electric vehicle industry. In the future, UL Battery Lab will also provide more professional and comprehensive service solutions for electric vehicle manufacturers.
