Ultimaker adds PETG consumables to industrial 3D printing platform

Ultimaker, a global leader in professional 3D printing, has launched a new Ultimaker PETG consumable, a material designed to provide users with first-class industrial application standards.

In order to ensure a worry-free, stable and reliable PETG consumable experience for the public, Ultimaker has created and extensively tested compatible material pre-configuration files in its 3D printers. According to the "2021 Ultimaker 3D Printing Mood Index Report", PETG is a polyethylene terephthalate (ethylene glycol modified) material, which is currently one of the three major materials used in 3D printing.

Ultimaker PETG consumables have the characteristics of wear resistance, high temperature resistance and chemical corrosion resistance, which are especially suitable for industrial applications-a growing field. According to Ultimaker's research, more and more companies are now using 3D printing to develop production tools.

This consumable can be seamlessly integrated into the company's ecosystem through its accompanying NFC recognition function and helps to set standards for industrial applications. With its availability, versatility and scalability, it makes cross-organization deployment easier-because it means that the replacement between materials is further reduced, and efficiency can be greatly improved.

Ultimaker PETG is compatible with Ultimaker PVA and Ultimaker Breakaway, two supporting consumables, which is convenient for wide application and production of different types of models. At the same time, users will also receive a complete set of technical, safety and compliance information, which will benefit future operations.

From change maker to production tool

Affected by the epidemic, engineers around the world have inspired the use of 3D printing to transform and develop to break the rules of traditional application cases. The versatility and standardized use of Ultimaker PETG consumables will further promote innovation in various industries.

Mr. Miguel Calvo, Chief Technology Officer of Ultimaker, said: “The addition of Ultimaker PETG consumables to our standard materials is an important step after the launch of our platform. With the number of cases in the industrial field using 3D printing Continued to rise, the addition of this new material has enhanced and improved our material portfolio. Its outstanding performance is a powerful supplement to our platform and an ideal choice for typical industrial environments and applications. Although we are now facing severe external challenges , But I believe that Ultimaker PETG will definitely help stimulate the creativity and innovation of users to ensure the continuation of production and daily life."
