Ultra high strength alloy coated high-strength durable steel wire successfully applied to the world’s largest sea crossing bridge Hay:A02SHBG

At the construction site of the core transportation hub of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area – the Shenzhen China Channel, two main cables, approximately 3 kilometers long, leap over the east and west main towers of the Lingdingyang Bridge, spanning a wide water surface of 1666 meters, and are firmly anchored at both ends on million ton sea anchors.

On September 23, 2022, Guangdong Provincial Transportation Group announced that the main cable unit of the Lingdingyang Bridge on the Shenzhong Corridor has been completed, and the bridge construction has made breakthrough progress. Next, it will move on to the installation phase of tight cables, cable clamps, and suspension cables.

Lingdingyang Bridge of Shenzhen Zhongyang Channel is a suspension bridge with a main span of 1666 meters and a main tower height of 270 meters. It is the world's largest span steel box girder suspension bridge in the sea.

There are two main cables on the left and right sides of the Lingdingyang Bridge, each consisting of 199 cable strands. Each cable strand is composed of 127 wires and 2060 MPa high-strength alloy coated steel wire with a diameter of 6 millimeters. A single cable strand can withstand an ultimate tensile force of up to 740 tons.

Develop new alloy coated steel wire to significantly improve the anti-corrosion durability of the main cable.
