US new energy start-up company NDB completes proof-of-concept test of nano-diamond battery

According to foreign media reports, NDB, a new energy start-up company headquartered in Pleasanton, USA, announced that it has completed two proof-of-concept tests for its nanodiamond battery and achieved an important milestone.

One of the experiments showed that the nano-diamond battery provided by NDB can collect 40% of the charge, which is a significant improvement over the commercial nano-diamond battery with only 15% charge collection efficiency.

The innovation of NDB lies in the creation of a new proprietary nano-diamond processing method, which can effectively extract charge from the diamond used to make batteries.

It is reported that the longest service life of NDB's nano-diamond battery can reach 28,000 years (yes, you read that right), and it is made of carbon-14 nuclear waste wrapped in synthetic diamond. The battery does not produce any carbon emissions during operation, and can work only in the open air.

Although nuclear waste is used as power, the radiation level of this battery will be lower than that produced by the human body, which makes it completely safe in various applications.

Currently, the development of the first NDB commercial prototype battery is underway and will be available later in 2020. If the result is really the same as expected, it will become a revolutionary source of power.
