WACKER launches LUMISIL® 1K UV, a one-component UV-curable silicone optical water glue

At the 2020 Shenzhen International Full Touch and Display Exhibition (C-Touch), WACKER will launch a new LUMISIL® 1K UV one-component optical bonding silicone series. The product does not need to be stored in refrigeration and can be used directly without the mixing process. Its unique ultraviolet (UV) delayed curing technology also eliminates the side curing process, which can significantly improve production efficiency and is especially suitable for optical bonding of large screens on vehicles. 2020 C-Touch will be held in Shenzhen, China from November 19th to 21st.

At present, the commercially available optical bonding silicones are all two-component products. On the one hand, users need to invest in special mixing equipment. On the other hand, the curing may be incomplete due to uneven mixing, which affects the reliability of large screens in vehicles Performance in demanding applications. For this reason, WACKER recently developed a new single-component silicone series LUMISIL® 1K UV to help users reduce equipment investment and solve the problem of uneven mixing of two-component products. LUMISIL® 1K UV does not need to be mixed and used directly. The product viscosity ranges from 2000 to 45000 mPa·s (mPa·s), which can be customized according to the user's process technology and equipment.

Compared with acrylic and other non-silicone one-component optical laminating water glues, LUMISIL® 1K UV does not require refrigerated transportation and storage, and does not require complicated processes such as temperature recovery. The product also uses WACKER’s unique UV delay technology, which can eliminate the need for side curing in the shadow area and quickly cure after UV light. LUMISIL® 1K UV not only ensures the reliable bonding of the display, but also greatly simplifies the bonding process and improves production efficiency. It is especially suitable for applications with high reliability requirements such as large automotive screens.
