The new XECARB ST series carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic composites combine advanced lightweight and excellent impact strength
Xenia Materials announced the launch of XECARB ST, which is a new super tough carbon fiber reinforced composite series. It is reported that this series has been customized to narrow the performance gap in the market and provide excellent impact strength performance.
"The demand for lightweight composites in various new markets is growing, such as sustainable mobility and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). We have determined that we need to provide higher impact resistance than carbon fiber reinforced composites before," said the relevant personnel.

XECARB ST is based on the proven mechanical strength of Xenia's successful XECARB series, but it is reported to show significantly higher notch impact resistance, low temperature ductility and tensile elongation at break.
The density of XECARB ST is slightly lower, which is said to provide further lightweight possibilities. Xenis Materials pointed out that major customers seeking to improve the impact and cold impact properties of carbon fiber composite applications are already evaluating the potential of this increased weight reduction, material and energy consumption reduction, and related cost savings and environmental impact reduction.
