4WEB’s New 3D Printed Titanium Implant Succeeds for First Clinical Surgery

Texas-based 4WEB Medical is one of the world's leading developers of 3D printed surgical implants. At present, 4 products have been approved by the US FDA, namely posterior spine truss system, cervical truss system, and osteotomy. Surgical truss system, and anterior lumbar interbody fusion (ALIF) spinal truss system. Now that the Antarctic Bear is getting good news, the company ’s other product, the first clinical trial of a curved posterior spinal truss system (PSTS, shown above) for transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (TLIF). The operation was a success. The announcement was made by the company at the annual meeting of the North American Spine Association, which just ended this week.

This 3D printed implant, called PSTS, is made of titanium, like other products from 4WEB, and uses a special structural design. Not only is it strong, but it is also porous and very light. Excellent biocompatibility, which can promote the growth and regeneration of bone in its interior, thus greatly improving the effect of implantation surgery.
