Academician Hou Baorong, Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences won the Science and Technology Achievement Award issued by NACE International, focusing on marine corrosion protection technology research and engineering promotion

Recently, Academician Hou Baorong of the Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences won the Science and Technology Achievement Award issued by NACE International at the award ceremony of the 2019 International Corrosion Conference hosted by NACE (The Association of American Corrosion Engineers).

Academician Hou Baorong is mainly engaged in marine corrosion protection technology research and engineering promotion. He has won many national awards such as National Science and Technology Progress Award, Shandong Province Science and Technology Highest Award, Shandong Province Technology Invention First Prize, and He Liang Heli Science and Technology Progress Award. The protective field has a high influence. In view of Academician Hou Baorong's outstanding contributions and outstanding influence in the fields of scientific research, engineering, education, and global corrosion research, the American Society of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) awarded Academician Hou Baorong the NACE Science and Technology Achievement Award.

The American Society of Corrosion Engineers was established in 1943. Its purpose is to focus on corrosion engineering, corrosion research and introduction of developments in corrosion technology, to set common industry standards, and to focus on the diffusion and training of corrosion knowledge. It currently has 140 countries around the world. With more than 37,000 members in Hehe District, it is currently the world's largest, most influential and most authoritative anticorrosion engineering organization. Its corrosion standards and professional technical qualification certificates have been widely recognized and adopted internationally.

On this visit to Nashville, Academician Hou Baorong also acted as a consultant, representing the Chinese Society for Corrosion and Protection, and meeting with NACE International senior officials to discuss the future strategic cooperation between the two parties.
