AkzoNobel Announces 2016 Third Quarter Results

AkzoNobel today announced its third-quarter results for 2016. Although the markets in some countries and regions are still full of challenges, sales of the company's decorative paint and specialty chemicals business increased in the third quarter, and profitability further achieved overall growth.

EBIT increased by 1% to 442 million euros, while return on sales increased to 12.3% (compared to 11.6% in the same period in 2015)

Affected by multiple effects of unfavorable exchange rates and prices, overall sales remained flat, with sales falling by 4% to € 3.6 billion

15.2% return on investment (13% in the same period in 2015)

Operating income increased by 4% to 454 million euros (436 million euros in the same period in 2015), thanks to miscellaneous operating income

Net income attributable to shareholders was EUR 285 million (corresponding period of 2015: EUR 285 million)

Adjusted net income per share (EPS) is € 1.20 (€ 1.24 in the same period in 2015)

Interim dividend increased by 6% to 0.37 euros per share (0.35 euros in the same period in 2015)
