AREVO launches 3D printed carbon fiber frame electric bicycle eBike

AREVO announced last week the launch of eBike, an electric power-assisted bicycle that uses a 3D printed carbon fiber frame. This is another masterpiece after the company launched its first 3D printed all-terrain city bike in May. AREVO received a $12.5 million (80 million yuan) Series B financing in May this year.

Arevo's technology combines 3D printing with web-based software, robotics, machine learning and thermoplastic materials. It uses a "print head" mounted on a robotic arm to print out the three-dimensional shape of the bicycle frame. AREVO allows customization of eBike for individual riders and large-scale printing when needed. Arevo's new bike is made of carbon fiber-embedded thermoplastic, which is five times stronger than titanium and weighs about one-third of titanium.

Researchers have created a new manufacturing model that enables companies to create and purchase products locally through the use of advances in dynamic software and automation. The development of eBike has proven that we can 3D print new products at low cost when needed. And localize the manufacturing process, greatly reducing the process and time of manufacturing bicycle frames.

OECHSLER is committed to being at the forefront of manufacturing innovation. The cooperation with AREVO enables the exploration of unique use cases for OECHSLER integrated drive systems. With the ability of AREVO to quickly produce customized bicycle frames, it will be able to meet the growing demand for electric bicycles.

Arevo's battery-assisted 3D printed carbon fiber frame electric car will be mass-produced next year. 3D printing carbon fiber material technology, the printed bicycle parts are installed on a mountain bike. Not only can it really ride, it can bear a weight of 100 kg, but it is not afraid of rain, snow, exposure and other conditions.
