BASF (BASF) has introduced a new type of engineering plastic-the new polyethersulfone (PESU) Ultrason E0510 C2TR, which is particularly suitable for automotive parts that come into contact with hot oil. This plastic has good friction properties, high oil resistance and good dimensional stability, and can work in a wide temperature range.

The plastic can be used in the range of minus 30 degrees Celsius to 180 degrees Celsius. Due to its low viscosity, it has good fluidity. Now, this new grade of plastic is available worldwide.

Ultrason E0510 C2TR

It can be used to produce a variety of automotive parts that come into contact with, such as oil pumps, oil-controlled pistons, pressure valves, and high-speed components in automatic or manual gearboxes. It can also be used in new applications such as alternative drive technologies.

Due to the good fluidity, parts with a wall thickness of less than 1 mm can be injection molded without affecting stability, durability and oil resistance. In addition, the coefficient of thermal expansion of the plastic is as low as 10.4 (10-6/K), ensuring that the parts made of it are dimensionally stable and can withstand rapid changes in cold and hot temperatures without causing any damage.

The sliding friction performance of this plastic is better than other high-performance thermoplastics with optimized friction properties: even under high wear rate conditions, the wear of the test parts is still very low, with little change in mechanical stability and chemical resistance.

This new material combines the proven properties of Ultrason, such as extraordinary chemical resistance, built-in flame retardancy, high rigidity and high strength, plus temperature stability that can work in a large temperature range and excellent The hydrolysis resistance.

Ultrason is the brand name of BASF's polyethersulfone (Ultrason E), polysulfone (Ultrason S) and polyphenylsulfone (Ultrason P) products.
