BASF has completed the previously announced transaction and sold its ultrafiltration membrane business to DuPont.
Terms of the transaction
The divestiture includes the shares of inge GmbH, the company ’s headquarters and production base in Greifenberg, Germany, including all employees, its international sales team, and certain intellectual property rights previously owned by BASF SE. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
"The Inge team has developed ultrafiltration membrane technology into a mature player in the market and has done a great job. However, the synergy with BASF is very limited." Said Anup Kothari, President of BASF's high-performance chemicals
For the ultrafiltration membrane business, it has become part of the strategic buyer DuPont, which has strong potential for value creation and will enable it to reach a new level of growth.
