Belgian sandwich material manufacturer EconCore announced the launch of ThermHex, an innovative continuous production technology for high-performance thermoplastic honeycomb core materials. The company claims that the technology can help multiple industries achieve their goals of cost reduction and weight reduction.
EconCore will show the latest research progress of this kind of honeycomb core material produced by modified PC, PA66 or PPS at the upcoming JEC World 2018 exhibition. It is reported that EconCore's R & D institution in Leuven, Belgium has undertaken the R & D task.
Currently, EconCore has entered the final stage of demonstration of the above-mentioned thermoplastic engineering plastics, and will develop its applications in the fields of automotive, aviation, transportation, packaging and construction this year.
"Last year, EconCore signed a series of important licensing agreements and worked with partners to complete a number of new product development tasks," Czarnecki added. These achievements include light photovoltaic panels using PA honeycomb core materials developed in cooperation with Armageddon Energy, and aircraft interior parts with good FST performance developed in partnership with Diehl Aircarbin.
