According to foreign media reports, mechatronics expert Brose and the US fiber laser leader IPG Photonics (IPG Optoelectronics) have developed the first direct welding measurement technology that can be used to produce automotive seat rails. The two companies said the inline coherent imaging technology (ICI) improves productivity, streamlines the verification process, and minimizes waste. After piloting the welding technology at the Ontario plant in London, Brose will expand the welding technology to several plants in the United States and Europe and is expected to begin production in early 2020.
