On September 12, 2018, Silicon Valley-based digital manufacturing company Carbon announced the launch of its first medical-grade resin 3D printing material: medical polyurethane 100 (MPU 100). It is reported that MPU 100 is similar to Carbon's rigid polyurethane material. It is a medical grade two-component resin. Digital Light Synthesis can be used to produce isotropic rigid plastics. It is designed for medical system, skin contact, drug contact, and disposable medical device application components.

The main functions of MPU 100 include:
Engineering grade material with excellent abrasion resistance
Tested for USP VI and ISO 10993-5 and -10 biocompatibility
Compatible with ethylene oxide, electron beam, and gamma sterilization methods
Maintains biocompatibility after sterilization
Compatible with common disinfectants
Certificate of Analysis available
