On August 16, the “Metal Reinforcement Technology Joint Laboratory” jointly established by the Institute of Metal Research of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and WHJT Cemented Carbide Materials Technology Coorporation was unveiled in Shenyang.

 

In the future, the two sides will focus on research and industrialization of the changes in the organization, structure, and performance of metal materials under the influence of electromagnetic fields, and carry out in-depth cooperation in technology research and development, project application, talent training, and intellectual property results to meet aviation, navigation, and transportation , Equipment manufacturing and other fields for high-performance superalloy blades, titanium alloy blades, bearings, carbide drills and other products. At the unveiling ceremony, WHJT Chairman Wang Mingdao introduced that in the past 16 years, the company has independently developed new technologies based on “lattice dislocation” regulation. As a basic method to improve the macro-mechanical properties of materials, some products strengthened with this technology already have engineering application conditions. After the establishment of the joint laboratory, the two sides will further expand the application scope of the technology in depth and breadth based on this foundation, and enhance the level of advanced metal materials and parts strengthening technology.

 

Director of the Joint Laboratory and researcher of the Institute of Metals Zhou Yichen said at the unveiling ceremony that the Institute of Metal Casting Superalloy Research Group created by Mr. Shi Changxu was involved in the design of high-temperature alloys, purification smelting, precision casting, additive manufacturing and repair, high-temperature alloy The comprehensive recycling of waste materials has profound theoretical and technical accumulation in such directions.
