The new 3D printing process Titomic Kinetic Fusion uses traditional cold spraying technology to build a volume of 9 meters long by 3 meters wide by 1.5 meters high. Recently, Titomic signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SXFX Titanium Powder and Titanium Material Co., Ltd., the largest titanium powder manufacturer and exporter in China, to accelerate the process of Titomic Kinetic Fusion (TKF).
According to the memorandum, Shaanxi Fengxiang Titanium Powder and Titanium Material Co., Ltd. will supply Titomic with low-cost commercial pure titanium powder. The cooperation is also expected to develop new titanium powder for the Titomic Kinetic Fusion (TKF) process.
The Titomic Kinetic Fusion process was jointly developed by the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) and Force Industries. It uses cold spray technology and can be used to 3D print titanium alloy parts. The versatility of this process is designed to expand Titomic's production opportunities in industries such as construction, marine vehicles and oil and gas.
Earlier this year, Titomic and TAUV signed a $ 1.8 million memorandum of understanding that TAUV will apply additive manufacturing to smart armor applications such as defense, law enforcement and civil industry. The cooperation will enable both parties to use 3D printing technology to manufacture unmanned armed vehicles (UAV), soldier systems and soldier sensors.
