China Mould Company successfully developed a high-precision stamping and forming process for thin-layer stainless steel metal bipolar plates Hay:T10DLST

On January 4th, China’s leading precision stamping die manufacturer, DLST Precision Tooling Group, overcame the problem of high-precision metal plate processing and developed a new generation of hydrogen fuel cell stacks with a power density of 1 per liter of traditional composite plate stacks. The kilowatt is increased to 4 kilowatts per liter, reaching the international advanced level.

Hydrogen energy and fuel cells are the hot spots of China's new energy technology research and development, but the current hydrogen energy and fuel cell industries are facing problems in cost, life span, and large-scale manufacturing processes. The core component of the fuel cell bipolar plate mainly includes three technical routes: graphite plate, composite plate and metal plate. Among them, the metal bipolar plate-based fuel cell stack has the advantages of small size, low temperature resistance, and low cost, and is an important research direction for the development of high power density fuel cell stacks. However, how to precisely process a micron-level precision flow field on a millimeter-level metal sheet is a technical problem that restricts its application.

In order to continuously improve the power density of fuel cell stacks, DLST is the first to realize the industrialization of fuel cell stack technology based on composite bipolar plates, and is engaged in research on all-metal bipolar plate fuel cell technology. After more than ten years of technical iterations of seven generations of molds, we have mastered the high-precision stamping and forming process of thin stainless steel metal bipolar plates. The stainless steel bipolar plate used in this technology is more technically difficult than the titanium bipolar plate used by some foreign car companies, but the cost is greatly reduced, and it has broad promotion prospects.
