China Nb3Sn/NbTi superconducting wires achievements Hay:H07XBCD

On June 30, 2023, XBCD Superconducting Technology Corporation, a leading manufacturer of superconducting wire technology in China, held a performance briefing. In recent years, the company has achieved multiple achievements in superconducting products:

 

The company has undertaken multiple national level projects in China, including 863 and 973, and independently developed a complete set of production technologies for low-temperature superconducting products;

Significantly improved the comprehensive performance of Nb3Sn wire for 15T applications, effectively supporting the construction of a number of national major scientific and technological infrastructure projects such as the “Comprehensive Research Facility for Key Systems of Fusion Reactor Mainframe”;

 

Breakthrough in high JcNb3Sn wire performance improvement and long wire preparation technology. The comprehensive performance of Bi-2212 wire for 30T fully superconducting applications has reached the international advanced level.

 

It provides MgB2 wires for the world’s first 10MJ/5MW High-temperature superconductivity energy storage device developed by China.

 

The performance index of NbTi superconducting cable for Quantum computer has met customer requirements;

 

The successful one-time excitation of a room temperature aperture 125mm non liquid helium high field superconducting magnet independently developed and manufactured marks another major breakthrough in China’s ultra long uniform zone non liquid helium high field superconducting magnet technology;

 

Comprehensively breaking through the preparation technology of direct liquid helium free superconducting magnets for refrigerators, we have developed a special liquid helium free superconducting magnet made of electronic grade single crystal silicon with a surface area of 300mm or more;

 

Developed the wiggler and undulator with the highest international parameters urgently needed by the Synchrotron radiation device represented by Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility, and got rid of the situation of being “choked” by foreign countries;

 

Comprehensively break through the core technology of superconducting electric maglev train magnet manufacturing based on the principle of linear motor and have the ability of industrialization. Superconducting magnets for ultra-high speed maglev are successfully promoted, laying a solid technical foundation for China to develop high-speed superconducting electric Maglev with a speed of more than 600km/h.
