Helium is widely used in fields such as aerospace, semiconductors, cutting-edge scientific research, high-end manufacturing, and medical treatment. It is one of the indispensable rare materials for the development of high-tech industries. Currently, over 95% of helium in China relies on imports.
The temperature required for the storage and transportation of liquid helium is minus 269 degrees Celsius, close to Absolute zero, and the technical requirements for equipment are very high.
It is reported that due to the high storage density per unit volume of liquid helium, the international helium market mainly transports and sells it in the form of liquid helium. Liquid helium tanks can seamlessly connect filling, land transportation, sea transportation, storage, and distribution, making them the most widely used and primary liquid helium storage and transportation carrier in the world.
The design and manufacturing of large-scale liquid helium storage and transportation equipment are mainly concentrated in the hands of a few enterprises in countries such as the United States, Japan, and Germany. Due to technical protection, trade barriers, and other reasons, Chinese enterprises had long been able to import liquid helium only through "leasing storage tanks".
