China’s first all-glass fiber composite light aircraft CG231 successfully passed the aircraft static test

On December 2, CG231, China first all-glass fiber composite light aircraft, passed the whole-machine static test in Chongqing General Aviation Industry Group Co., Ltd. located in Longxing Park of Liangjiang New District.

It is reported that this test is an iconic key test for model development and an important prerequisite for ensuring the first flight. The tested CG231 is expected to make its first flight before the end of 2019.

It is reported that CG231 / NH40 is a CCAR23 four-seat fixed-wing aircraft with independent intellectual property rights jointly developed by Chongqing General Aviation Group and Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and is also the first domestic four-seat fixed-wing aircraft with all-glass fiber composite materials. For the first time, all-composite aircraft use domestically produced composite materials (Aviation Composites), and its innovation has been strongly supported by the Chongqing Municipal Science and Technology Bureau. At present, it has entered the type certification (TC) review process of the Civil Aviation Administration of China.

The reporter learned that this model adopts the upper single-wing layout, Continental CD-155 / Lycoming IO-360 engine, integrated integrated display system, and it is very convenient to use and maintain. Designed according to the requirements of primary driving training and private transportation, the aircraft has a wingspan of 11.18 meters and a take-off weight of 1184kg, which is both aesthetically pleasing and comfortable.

The static test of the whole aircraft is to simulate a series of complex loads and other environmental conditions such as aerodynamic force, engine thrust, ground landing gear reaction force, etc., during the operation of the aircraft through the restraint device and the load loading system, and to truly apply the load to the aircraft In order to measure whether the real aircraft structure meets the strength requirements during the entire flight process, it is a very challenging comprehensive test. The aircraft participating in this test was the first aircraft of the CG231 model. It was the first practice of the product from drawings to physical objects. Its success laid a solid foundation for the subsequent CG231 first flight, and also allowed Chongqing General Aviation Group to develop the whole machine. Step up to a new level.

Behind the achievements is a professional R & D team.

In order to learn advanced technology, the team went to the United States Enstrom Helicopter Company to participate in the joint development of the TH-180 helicopter, as well as the development of the domestic 1 ton class CG111 helicopter, and accumulated nearly 9 years of aircraft research and development experience, filling the gap of Chongqing General Aviation R & D platform. After returning to China in 2016, the development of the CG231 model was promoted day and night.
