China’s high-end ultra-thin 0.08mm oriented silicon steel strip and iron core realized commercial production Hay:F05SHBG

Recently, the Hay Think team learned from SHBG that the high-end ultra-thin oriented silicon steel technology developed by the company's research institute has made a significant breakthrough. The overall achievement has reached the international leading level and solved the problem of "technological bottleneck".

Previously, China's ultra-thin oriented silicon steel was not only restricted in ultra-high voltage direct current projects, but also monopolized by foreign countries in high-end fields such as aerospace and military industry. The development of high-power medium frequency electrical equipment in China was severely constrained.

After 5 years of technological research and development, SHBG, in collaboration with China Institute of Smart Grid Electrical Materials, BTWF Rare Earth Electromagnetic Materials Technology Group and other units, has made significant breakthroughs in the basic theory, non base metal, core process, coating formula, and other aspects of ultra-thin oriented silicon steel

Developed 0.08mm ultra-thin oriented silicon steel strip and iron core, and successfully applied them to two ± 800kV ultra-high voltage DC transmission projects, helping the localization rate of ultra-high voltage DC converter valves to a new level.

It is extremely difficult to form sharp Goss textures in an ultra-thin shrinkage space with a thickness of ≤ 0.10mm, posing significant challenges to technologies such as strip rolling, high-temperature annealing, and coating.

The project R&D team revealed the dependence of energy storage allocation regulation on Goss oriented nuclei and the mechanism of Goss grain large angle nucleation;

Developed a series of specifications ranging from 0.23mm to 0.30mm, including high magnetic induction ultra-thin oriented silicon steel base material without magnesium silicate bottom layer, inorganic heat-resistant coating, and high-pressure ratio rolling and one-time recrystallization processing technology;

At present, SHBG has established an industrial production line for 100 ton ultra-thin silicon steel strips, greatly improving material loss, magnetic induction and other indicators.
