China’s leading high temperature superconducting tape has completed six “Global No.1” projects Hay:H07SHCD

SHCD Superconducting Material Technology Corporation has realized the mass production of the second generation of high temperature superconducting tapes, and cooperated with downstream enterprises to apply this material to superconducting power, superconducting magnets, controllable nuclear fusion and other fields.

By 2020, the annual output of SHCD superconducting materials will increase from more than ten kilometers three years ago to 400 kilometers, doubling the product performance and increasing the yield from less than 50% to about 90%.

SHCD has applied for 176 invention patents, 154 of which have been authorized. On behalf of China, the company participated in the round robin comparison of international standards for the second generation of high temperature superconducting tapes and undertook the formulation of a number of national standards.

High temperature superconducting tapes can be used in electric power, manufacturing, medical treatment, transportation, controllable nuclear fusion, large scientific devices and other fields.

The second generation of high temperature superconducting tapes produced by SHCD were used in the world's first 35kV km superconducting cable demonstration project run in Shanghai.

Different application scenarios have different requirements for strips, so the company has developed a series of practical technologies. For example, he invented a new joint structure to solve the problem of limited tape length, which is the second generation of high-temperature superconducting tape industrial joint with the lowest resistance in the world.

SHCD, together with downstream application customers, has completed 6 "Global First" projects:

Three superconducting current limiters with the highest voltage level in the world;

The world's first megawatt inductive superconducting heating device;

All superconducting steady state strong magnet with the highest magnetic field in the world;

The world's first 35kV km superconducting cable
