On December 10, the Lithium Niobate High Speed Modulator Chip Industrial Park project invested by GDGK Optoelectronics Technology Group officially started construction.
The total investment in the research and development and industrialization of lithium niobate high-speed modulator chips is 585 million yuan, of which 540 million yuan has been raised. The project covers an area of about 26 acres, with a total construction area of about 40,000 square meters. It is expected to be put into operation in 2022 and will produce 100,000 lithium niobate chips and high-speed modulators annually.
The project mainly includes chip production center, packaging test center and R&D center. After completion, it will be used for the R&D and industrialization of telecommunication grade lithium niobate series high-speed optical modulator chips and devices, and the development of next-generation thin-film lithium niobate modulators.
