On August 13, YTTH Advanced Materials Technology Group, China's leading aramid technology company, issued an announcement: The new production base of 5,000 tons of high-performance para-aramid project has completed trial production and realized commercial production.
YTTH currently has 5,000 tons of NX base and 6,000 tons of YT base, a total of 11,500 tons of para-aramid production capacity, the fourth in the world and the first in China. Due to the high barriers to para-aramid production technology, DuPont of the United States and Teijin of Japan account for about 70% of the global share. According to the statistics of the China Chemical Fiber Association, the production capacity of China's para-aramid plant exceeds 20,000 tons, mainly from YTTH.
In addition, YTTH completed the acquisition of China`s most advanced aramid paper technology company in December 2018.
The company will have meta-aramid paper and para-aramid paper and their derivatives, with a production capacity of 2,200 tons of aramid paper per year, and the current annual output is about 500 tons. Among them, meta-aramid paper can be used for honeycomb core structural parts such as airplanes, ships, and high-speed railways, and para-aramid paper can be used for aerospace honeycomb core materials. Downstream customers include military users such as the aviation industry.
