China’s titanium alloy powder, high temperature alloy powder leading manufacturer and GE Additives jointly build Beijing Additive Manufacturing Innovation Center H01ZHMT

On July 8th, China's titanium alloy powder and high temperature alloy powder leading manufacturer ZHMT Special Alloy Technology Group and GE Additives signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Beijing. The two parties jointly established the Beijing Additive Manufacturing Innovation Center. It has cooperated in civil aviation engine applications and other aspects, actively researched the application technology and solutions of additive manufacturing of high temperature alloys and titanium alloys, and jointly promoted the application and development of additive manufacturing material technology in the aviation industry.

ZHMT general manager Gao Zhengjiang, technical director Dr. Dongjie Li, GE Additive's German Concept Laser, Global Key Account Director Andreas Tulaj, GE Additives Asia-Pacific General Manager Czek Haan, GE Additives China North Director Liu Zhigang, etc. attended the signing ceremony. Gao Zhengjiang The general manager and Andreas Tulja signed a strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of both parties, and officially started a new journey of innovative cooperation in additive manufacturing application technology.

In recent years, metal 3D printing technology has developed rapidly, highlighting its structural and functional design and rapid manufacturing advantages in aerospace, digital medical, automotive, mold and other fields, bringing new technological changes to the development of manufacturing. The American GE company began to use metal 3D printing technology to develop aero engine combustion chamber parts more than ten years ago, accumulated a large amount of experimental data, and completed the printing production and installation of more than 30,000 parts and components. After acquiring two industrial-grade 3D printing equipment companies, Concept Laser in Germany and Arcam in Sweden, in 2016, GE has basically established its leading position in the field of industrial additive manufacturing. In recent years, GE Additive has increased capital and equipment investment, upgraded and optimized SLM and EBM two additive manufacturing equipment systems, developed a new large-size M LINE selective laser melting and Spectra H electron beam melting equipment, and established M LINE FACTORY's new intelligent 3D printing factory module has promoted the application of additive manufacturing of high-performance titanium aluminum alloy, high temperature alloy and other materials and their component products in civil aviation engines.

Gao Zhengjiang, general manager of ZHMT, said that cooperating with GE Additives to build the Beijing Additive Manufacturing Innovation Center can well integrate Chinese materials with advanced equipment, processes and software technologies from Europe and the United States, and research and solve the problem of aero engine combustion chamber component printing process stability Technical problems and accelerate breakthroughs in key materials, processes and component technologies for civil aviation engine additive manufacturing.

ZHMT Beijing Additive Manufacturing Innovation Center will focus on key industry application needs, conduct research on key common technologies such as additive manufacturing materials, processes, and applications, build an additive manufacturing application technology system, and create an open and collaborative additive manufacturing technology innovation platform.
