Corrosion is a worldwide problem that the petroleum industry has been facing. In oil and gas exploitation, the corrosion of hydrogen sulfide, carbon dioxide, chloride ions and other media is one of the important reasons for the failure of pipes. About one-third of the world's oil and gas fields contain hydrogen sulfide gas. China's Sichuan, Changqing, North China, Xinjiang and Jianghan oil fields are all sulfur-bearing oil and gas fields.

In order to solve this common problem, SXYG relied on the R&D advantages of the China National Oil and Gas Pipe Engineering Technology Research Center, and it took 3 years to research and build China's only and industry-leading experimental R&D platform for corrosion-resistant alloy pipes for high-corrosion environments. The platform adopts self-developed special steel belt butt joints, continuous uninterrupted pipe string forming, China’s highest-power laser welding, full-tube solid solution heat treatment and other advanced technologies, and is committed to the research and development of stainless steel, titanium alloy, nickel-based alloy, aluminum-magnesium Alloy and other material pipes solve the old and difficult problem of oilfield "corrosion".

On August 12 this year, the SXYG platform conquered the key technology for the manufacture of high-alloy corrosion-resistant 2205 duplex stainless steel coiled tubing, and developed the first domestic custom-made coil with a length of 4000 meters, an outer diameter of 31.8 mm, and a wall thickness of 3 mm for Changqing Oilfield. Alloy coiled tubing.

According to Wang Haitao, China’s National Oil and Gas Pipe Engineering Technology Research Center, corrosion-resistant alloy 2205 stainless steel coiled tubing has a resistance to internal and external pressures of more than 30% higher than that of ordinary carbon steel, and its fatigue life is about twice that of ordinary carbon steel. Hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide coexist. The corrosion rate in the oil and gas well environment is more than 10 times lower than that of ordinary carbon steel, which is especially suitable for high-corrosion operating environments.
