On July 21st, China's ultra-high-power graphite electrode and high-power graphite electrode manufacturer HNPM Carbon Material Technology Group invested and constructed the world’s highest thermal conductivity graphene thermal film production line project successfully realized commercial production, and its performance can be fully matched 5G products require higher heat flux.

With the advent of the 5G era, the power consumption of electronic products is 2 to 5 times that of 4G, and the resulting heat generation will also increase several times compared with 4G. This is a great test for thermal interface materials and heat dissipation materials.

Graphene is a new type of nanomaterial with strong electrical and thermal conductivity, and is known as the "king of new materials". Compared with the traditional artificial graphite thermal film, graphene as a better thermal conductive material has become a new type of carbon material developed by major domestic electronic product manufacturers.

Faced with changes in the domestic market demand structure, as one of the few carbon manufacturers that can independently produce large-scale ultra-high-power graphite electrodes and is the only carbon manufacturer with a complete industrial chain in the world, HNPM is driven by technological innovation and relies on university scientific research institutions to establish carbon materials. Design and research institute, centering on the industrial chain of "coking coal-coal tar, pitch-needle coke-graphite electrode, special graphite, negative electrode material and new carbon material", research and develop new high value-added carbon material products, and create a hundred billion level Carbon-based new materials industrial park.

Three years ago, through cooperation with Tsinghua University, HNPM introduced advanced technology and equipment to produce vapor-deposited graphene with the highest technological level of carbon materials, and then developed a graphene thermal conductive film, which has a higher thermal conductivity than similar products on the market. Three to four times, and the thickness can be controlled arbitrarily, a single film can reach hundreds of microns, which can quickly transfer the heat generated by the 5G electronic product chip to achieve uniform heat.

In 2021, HNPM will conduct mass production of graphene thermal film. It is estimated that the first phase of the project can achieve a production capacity of 100,000 square meters with an annual output value of 40 million yuan. The second phase plans to build a production capacity of 500,000 square meters.

In addition, as one of the core components of fuel cells, the company has also developed high-performance fuel cell bipolar plates whose performance indicators such as impermeability, resistivity, and corrosion resistance are superior to similar domestic products, and the unit production The cost and cycle are much lower than that of domestic enterprises of the same type, and can be widely used in energy storage fields such as electric locomotives, photovoltaic power generation, and wind power generation. It is understood that the product is currently entering the pilot test stage. After it is put into production, the annual design capacity is 1GW, and the annual output value is expected to be 2 billion yuan.
