Plate heat exchanger is the core equipment of nuclear power heat exchange system, which is mainly used for heat exchange between equipment cooling water system and important service water system of coastal nuclear power plants. Its stability and heat exchange performance directly affect the energy efficiency and safety of nuclear power plants. Due to its excellent corrosion resistance, titanium materials have great application potential in the marine field, and high-performance titanium plates and strips are the key materials for the preparation of nuclear power panels.

For industrial production, a single project requires hundreds of tons of titanium plate and strip, and the corresponding titanium plate and strip length is 100km. How to achieve efficient and stable production site is a common problem faced by the industry.

Over the years, HNJT has relied on the group's titanium industry chain of casting, forging, rolling and welding to comprehensively promote the localization process of titanium plate and strip for nuclear plate heat exchanger, carried out research from the dimensions of trace element composition design, strong plastic matching, anisotropy control, etc., mastered a number of key core technologies, and formed a number of independent intellectual property rights. In May 2021, the project of "Localization Development of High Performance Titanium Plate and Strip for Nuclear Power Plate Heat Exchanger" developed by HNJT successfully passed the appraisal of scientific and technological achievements of China Nuclear Energy Industry Association. The academician and expert review team agreed that the overall technology has reached the international advanced level, filling the gap of relevant materials in China.

On this basis, HNJT continued to strengthen the optimization of key processes and the quality monitoring of the whole process, and promoted the technology of nuclear plate heat exchanger to the fields of petroleum, chemical industry, offshore engineering, etc., which was highly recognized by domestic and foreign customers and the industry.

In April 2022, HNJT and LS Heat Exchange Equipment Co., Ltd. won the bid for Nanshan Yulong 20 million t/a Refining and Chemical Integration Project, and won 70% of the project in direct competition with international titanium material giants, achieving a major breakthrough in the application of domestic titanium plate exchange in large-scale projects.
