On December 21st, China`s largest lithium battery separator manufacturer SHEJ Advanced Materials Technology Group and Teijin signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement consisting of a patent master licensing agreement, a cooperative development agreement, and a technical support agreement. Teijin Co., Ltd. Hundreds of patents related to coating separators for solvent-based lithium-ion batteries held worldwide were exclusively licensed to SHEJ.
SHEJ quickly became the absolute leader in China's wet process diaphragms with its significant cost advantage brought by its technological leadership. In the second half of 2019, the wet process diaphragms began to be supplied to the international market in large quantities, and their overseas market share began to accelerate. At the same time, it announced the construction of a factory in Europe this year. It marks the acceleration of the company's global production capacity layout.
The cooperation with Japan's Teijin this time marked that under the trend that SHEJ's low-cost advantages continue to strengthen, overseas giants have chosen to join forces rather than strengthen competition, and the global wet process diaphragm has entered a new stage of win-win for the global giant alliance.
It is expected that the SHEJ online coating production line will enter the stage of accelerated mass production after the Spring Festival in 2021, and the substantial increase in yield will bring about a rapid decline in costs and will further accelerate the promotion.
