On the morning of November 25th, a joint venture project for the production and manufacturing of civil aviation structural parts of Kafei with a total investment of 5.2 billion yuan held a groundbreaking ceremony in Jingjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone, marking the cooperation between Jingjiang and COMAC, GKN Aerospace, and AVIC International. The cooperation has produced phased results and opened a new chapter in jointly building a manufacturing base for aviation parts.
The Chairman of Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, COMAC, SAIC, AVIC International, AVIC International Supply Chain, GKN Aerospace, and officials from the British Consulate in China were invited to attend the event.
The project is a leading and base aviation manufacturing industry project that Jingjiang focuses on. It is located in the Aviation Manufacturing Industrial Park of Jingjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone. The total investment is 5.2 billion yuan, and the total investment of the first phase is 3.6 billion yuan. It covers an area of 360 acres. Various types of civil aircraft-related structural parts such as flat tails, spoilers, fairings, etc.; the second phase mainly develops and produces aviation metal and composite parts.
The project brings together the professional advantages of COMAC, GKN Aerospace, and AVIC International in the fields of aviation design and manufacturing, lean management, and supply chain integration services. It enjoys a global perspective, gathers a professional team, and aims to become a set design , R&D, manufacturing, and supply of a world-class civil aircraft parts manufacturer.
Yu Zemin, Deputy Party Secretary and General Manager of COMAC Shanghai Aircraft Manufacturing Co., Ltd., John Prechard, President of GKN Aerospace Civil Aircraft Structural Parts, and Xu Tongyu, Party Secretary and Chairman of AVIC International Supply Chain Technology Co., Ltd., signed a joint venture contract.
Jingjiang City Mayor Chen Fengjian signed a four-party investment agreement with SAIC, AVIC Supply Chain, and GKN Aerospace civil aircraft structural components.
