On December 18, Covestro broke ground on a new 100 million euro polycarbonate film production line in Rayong, Thailand.
Covestro said that the main purpose of the expansion is to strengthen cooperation with customers in the Asia Pacific region, especially "improving efficiency and delivering on time."
The plant started in January 2007 and produces blended films of Makrofol polycarbonate and Bayfol polycarbonate. These films are used in industrial sectors such as security and identification, automotive, medical and electrical and electronics industries.
