Cygnet Texkimp launched new generation of pneumatic unwinding creels [Flatline Creel] for the high-end carbon fiber market

On December 7, the fiber processing expert Cygnet Texkimp of the United Kingdom announced that it will launch a new generation of unwinding creels for the high-end carbon fiber market, called Flatline Creel.

Compared with the traditional mechanical unwinding creel, Flatline Creel uses advanced low-pressure and low-friction pneumatic technology to ensure that the yarn tension is always maintained at a low level and has a high degree of consistency. The pressure and critical value of each cylinder are programmed in advance, and the central electronic control system is adjusted according to the actual production situation to achieve precise control of the torsion force at different positions of the creel.

At the same time, because of the preset program, Flatline Creel does not require any mechanical calibration, nor does it require any high-level field operations. The optimization of the design scheme minimizes the variable factors in the production process.

"As we all know, how the fiber is unwound from the spool and how it is fed to the next process is the core factor that determines the success or failure of the process and the quality of the product. Especially when producing high-quality carbon fiber prepregs/fabrics, tension control is the key to technology. "Cygnet Texkimp product director Chris Furphy said, "After mastering precision pneumatic technology, Cygnet Texkimp has an unparalleled advantage in this convenience."

Allegedly, each Flatline component is in a nearly airtight module, which prevents residual filaments from entering the system to interfere with the uniformity of tension. The adjustable tension of Flatline Creel is between 100g-1000g, which is wider than traditional mechanical unwinding creels.
