On December 2, 2020, the British Survitec Group specially designed a Class A compressed air emergency breathing system (EBS) for marine helicopter passengers and crew, mainly to increase the probability of survival for those who fall into the water.
The EBS system consists of a mouth with a nose clip, a braided low-pressure hose and a reinforced carbon composite compressed air cylinder. The overall weight is 949g, which is 30% lighter than other similar systems. Survitec has now integrated the system into the "Halo" aviation life jacket, and the operator can complete the operation with one hand.
