DSM Advanced Solar launches Endurance backsheet D15

The global material technology company Royal DSM Group of the Netherlands announced that it has officially launched the "universal" weather-resistant backsheet D15: This product provides excellent performance protection for various types of solar modules with its excellent cost performance, filling the gap in the photovoltaic market. As a leader in co-extrusion backplane technology, DSM aims to further develop the photovoltaic backplane market and gradually establish its important position in the industry.

DSM launched the weather-resistant backplane D15, which aims to help the industry further reduce the level of power generation costs without sacrificing product quality and performance. This new product in the weather-resistant backsheet product series uses the same co-extrusion process and super-strong polyolefin intermediate layer as DSM's previous B-series products to provide excellent protection and weather resistance. Therefore, DSM hopes that the launch of this product can accelerate the widespread promotion of co-extrusion technology in the market.

Long-term practical applications have proved that the weather-resistant backplane D15 is a "universal" backplane that is widely applicable to various technical types. Its core technology has been verified on the spot for about 6 years of outdoor use without failure; recently, the product has obtained the world's first comprehensive stress sequence accelerated aging certificate issued by the industry's leading third-party testing and certification organization TV Nande.

This extremely rigorous material evaluation sequence simulates natural conditions by combining damp heat aging, ultraviolet aging, high and low temperature cycle aging and other sequences to detect the risk of failure of the backplane under extreme environments. "We often see and hear from customers-the traditional backplane design has reached its limit and cannot meet the needs of further improvement." Mr. Pascal de Sain, vice president of DSM Advanced Solar, said, "The industry continues to reduce costs. This allows traditional backsheets to continuously reduce their thickness, choose lower-cost PET substrates, and reduce the content of fluoropolymers. However, our weather-resistant backsheet D15 has a unique approach and provides excellent long-term protection for components with affordable prices and excellent performance. To meet industry challenges."

Weather-resistant backboard D15 adopts a one-time co-extrusion production process without adhesives. The result is a one-piece multi-layer structure product, which uses the extremely strong core layer on the market-polyolefin material instead of PET. Therefore, D15 backsheet can provide excellent water vapor barrier properties and wear resistance, as well as long-term excellent mechanical properties, UV resistance and chemical stability.

In addition to the improvement of product performance, the weather-resistant backplane D15 is also an environmentally friendly product. The production process of this product is highly controllable, and the bill of materials supports full traceability. In addition, the product continues the sustainable development concept of weather-resistant backsheet series products. The product does not contain fluorine. Compared with traditional similar products, the carbon footprint is reduced by 30%; it is recyclable and does not produce production waste. This allows DSM to continue to implement the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 7 ("Affordable and Clean Energy for All"), 12 ("Responsible Consumption and Production") and 13 ("Take urgent action Climate change”).

"The newest member of the weatherable backsheet series is the best proof of our continued commitment to the photovoltaic industry." Mr. Pascal de Sain said, "At DSM Advanced Solar, we are working harder than ever to achieve our goals. , To provide affordable clean energy for everyone."
