DuPont Transportation and Advanced Polymers (T & AP) announced plans to expand its high-temperature nylon (DuPont Zytel HTN PPA) polymerization capabilities at its Uentrop plant in Hamm, Germany.
Increasing production capacity at the Uentrop production line opened in 2016 is another step in DuPont's long-term investment strategy to improve aggregation and compounding capabilities.
In 2015, nylon companies announced a 10% increase in Zytel HTN polymer capacity in Richmond, Virginia.
Since then, DuPont T & AP has also increased its high-temperature nylon grade compounding capabilities at the Mechelen site in Belgium in 2017.
Zytel HTN PPA grades maintain good stiffness, strength and mechanical properties in high temperatures, chemicals and moisture, making them ideal applications for a variety of automotive parts and systems, connectors and bushings.
In consumer electronics, Zytel HTN high-performance polyamides allow designers to create lighter and thinner products when designing mobile phones, tablets and other handheld devices.
"In Europe, our Uentrop plant is a classic example of Zytel HTN PPA products committed to high-quality and consistent product supply," said Thomas Philipon, global product line manager for DuPont Zytel HTN.
