This new e-mac 130 injection molding machine will make its debut at the ENGEL live e-xperience 2020 virtual interactive exhibition from October 13 to 16, 2020, to demonstrate the production of extremely challenging connector components.

An ENGEL e-mac 465/130 injection molding machine will be equipped with a 16-cavity mold to produce actuators for HARTING Han-Quick Lock brand connector systems. Depending on the type of connector, up to 100 drivers are usually installed in a single connector housing, which can connect multiple conductors very quickly and easily.

Highest dimensional accuracy and repeatability

This kind of small precision parts have very small weight and large wall thickness changes, so they are very demanding: to ensure reliable functions, they require very high rigidity, which is achieved by polycarbonate containing glass fibers.

In order to ensure the maximum dimensional accuracy and repeatability of this wire-like component structure, the all-electric injection molding machine is the first choice for the production of connector components. This type of machine plays an important role in reducing costs especially in mass production. A wide range of connector varieties can be produced in large quantities, including connectors for industrial applications, such as the HARTING connector system used in ENGEL injection molding machines.

The new e-mac 130 injection molding machine with the smallest injection unit is only 4400 mm long, and the tie rod width is 530mm×530mm, which means that e-mac 130 provides the largest tie rod among all-electric injection molding machines with similar clamping force spacing.

All movements of ENGEL e-mac, including nozzle movement and ejection, are executed by servo electric drive, so its overall efficiency is very high. If necessary, the servo hydraulic unit can be integrated into the frame without additional space. The design of the e-mac machine makes it very easy to maintain, and ergonomics is especially considered in the interface positioning and barrel design.

The new specifications allow ENGEL to adjust the machine more specifically to various application requirements in order to better realize the efficiency potential of the machine.

Intelligent assistance for demand-driven control

The e-mac 465/130 injection molding machine is equipped with an ENGEL viper 12 linear manipulator, which is used to remove and place parts during the production of plug actuators, and also uses two intelligent auxiliary systems in the ENGEL injection 4.0 product series .

While iQ weight control software can readjust the amount of melt in each injection to ensure that the injection molded products always maintain high quality and actively avoid the production of waste.

The iQ flow control software automatically adjusts the temperature difference in the cooling water manifold circuit. For this purpose, the software uses the measured values ​​determined by the e-flomo temperature control water manifold system to ensure constant temperature conditions, and help improve quality and reduce waste rate.

Because the pump speed in the ENGEL e-temp temperature control device is also automatically adjusted according to demand, it also significantly improves energy efficiency.
