Epoxy resin EP42-2LV Black developed by Master Bond Company meets NASA low outgassing standard

EP42-2LV Black by Master Bond is a two-component epoxy resin system with low viscosity and high flow. It can be immersed in many acids, alkalis, solvents, fuels and oils for a long time. The material can be used in the fields of bonding, sealing, coating and casting that require strong chemical resistance.

In April of this year, Master Bond just launched a two-component epoxy system resin, EP40Med resin, which combines toughness and low tensile modulus, while still having high lap shear strength. This flexible epoxy resin has an elongation of 80-90%, a lap shear strength of 1,600-1,800 psi, and a low tensile modulus of 25,000-50,000 psi.

Main features of EP42-2LV Black

The compound is easy to use in a mixing ratio of 100 to 40 weight ratio or 100 to 50 volume ratio, in which part A is black and part B is light amber. The viscosity of the mixing system is about 1,000-2,000 cps and has a long service life of 60 to 90 minutes per 100 gram batch.

EP42-2LV Black can be cured within 2 to 3 days at room temperature or within 2 to 3 hours at a high temperature of 200 ° F. It is opaque. For best performance, the recommended curing schedule is to leave overnight at room temperature, then heat to cure at 150-200 ° F for 2 to 4 hours.

It meets NASA's low exhaust standards and can be used in a wide temperature range of -60 ° F to 350 ° F. The system is electrically insulated, the volume resistivity at room temperature is greater than 1014 ohm-cm, and the dielectric constant at 60 Hz is 4.0. These characteristics, combined with a relatively long service life and low heat release characteristics, make EP42-2LV Black suitable for many larger potting and packaging applications. EP42-2LV Black can be used in aerospace, electronics, optics and OEM industries.
