BYD and British bus manufacturer Alexander Dennis (ADL) announced that the first-ever pure electric double-decker bus Enviro400EV jointly built by the two parties was officially delivered to Metroline's operator Metroline and started operation this week. This is the first large-scale pure electric double-decker bus order in London jointly won by BYD and ADL in 2018, totaling 37 units.
The first batch of five fully electric double-decker buses will serve London's busy 43 bus line between London Bridge in central London and the Friern Barnet area in the northern suburbs. The total length of the line is 9 miles.

The new Enviro400EV new model carries BYD's inherent outstanding genes, including BYD's world-leading technology for manufacturing pure electric buses and lithium iron phosphate battery technology, while condensing ADL's lightweight body design.
Enviro400EV is 10.9 meters long, with a new chassis and an all-aluminum body shape. The vehicle is driven by an all-electric drivetrain. Its BYD's next-generation lithium iron phosphate battery has a capacity of 382 kWh and a range of 160 miles. Thanks to BYD's innovative wheel motor technology and industry-leading battery thermal management system, the vehicle has the characteristics of high and low temperature resistance, high temperature resistance, long life, and high safety.
