Brückner Group will show a series of packaging technology solutions such as single material film, special film, aluminum battery film, etc. at K Show 2019

Brückner Maschinenbau, one of the four major group companies of the Brückner Group, will display a series of innovative technologies during the K2019 exhibition, with a single material for environmental protection and energy saving Thin film production technology also has new technologies for special films and aluminum battery separators.

Bruckner Machinery's Chief Operating Officer, Technology & Logistics, Michael Baumeister, introduces the company's innovative technologies to be exhibited at the K show.

Innovations that meet the needs of the circular economy

Brückner is dedicated to producing films with high recyclability on the film stretching line. The company will focus on producing single-material films with excellent mechanical and optical properties, which will be able to replace previous multilayer films made of different materials.

These film products are well-suited for new single-source packaging and guarantee good waste sortability and optimal recycling capabilities.

Focus on raw materials and energy saving

The industry has developed various new products for the circular economy, and Bruckner Machinery Co., Ltd. has always adhered to its ambitious goal of reducing the use of raw materials and energy consumption in the film production process.

Although there are various legal requirements for recycling and reusability, the issue of climate change and the focus on reducing the carbon footprint of the entire packaging production chain should not be forgotten. In the fight against climate change, we still need to save resources in the production of plastic packaging.

New technologies for two types of film production

During the K 2019 exhibition, Bruckner Machinery will introduce two new production line concepts for the production of BOPE film (biaxially oriented polyethylene).

Film makers can choose the type with a width of 6.6 meters and an output rate of 3 tons / hour, or the type with a width of 8.7 meters and an output rate of 5 tons / hour. These represent the concept of a 5-layer structure stretch film.

The new production line is also suitable for the production of BOPP films, such as special films such as UHB films and coated films for high barrier applications, as well as traditional packaging films.

As the market demand for innovative BOPE films has only just begun to develop, film manufacturers need to be able to respond quickly and flexibly to market demand trends.

New online coating machine produces nano-scale films

Even under the trend of circular economy, the recycling capacity has become the focus, but the new single material structure must also meet the highest quality and performance requirements, not to mention lower than traditional packaging films. This is why Bruckner Machinery is developing a new type of in-line coating machine for all BOPP and BOPE production lines, which is installed on the production line before transverse stretching to produce ultra-thin functional layers at the nanometer level.

Because these functional layers are extremely thin, they do not interfere with sorting and recycling, but at the same time they can meet, for example, the improved adhesion required during metallization, as well as excellent barrier properties, coupled with ultra-thin coatings such as alumina coatings and Efficient performance.

Special film production line

In addition to stretch lines for the production of packaging films, special film machines are becoming increasingly important in Bruckner Machinery's product portfolio. The company will showcase various innovative models at K 2019:

• New high-temperature concept of BOPP capacitor film, such as for electrical components installed near the motor;

• The production line of stone paper produced by BOPP or BOPE, the proportion of calcium carbonate exceeds 60%: not only has good printability and water resistance, but also environmental protection in the production process;

• Biaxially oriented polyester film (BOPET) for optical applications. The company's patent pending new Relax System ensures stable film performance, which improves film quality and processability.

• BOPI (biaxially stretched polyamide) is very suitable for flexible optical applications, such as flexible screens, high-temperature furnaces and systems for stretching need to meet extremely high temperature requirements up to 400 ° C, and the new Bruckner Machinery production line can meet this requirement .

New technology for battery separators

In the field of lithium-ion battery separators, Bruckner Machinery has become an acclaimed leading battery separator manufacturer with its successfully operating production line. During K2019, the following new technologies will be demonstrated:

• Optimized linear motor synchronous stretching technology (LISIM)

• Reduce the trimming of the edge part to obtain higher film utilization efficiency;

• Provide greater flexibility in stretching adjustment during the production process, which can improve mechanical properties such as puncture resistance and optimize hole distribution, thereby extending service life;

• The newly developed patented elastic chain can improve the film performance in terms of battery safety;

• The world's only 5.5m production line width can improve efficiency;

• Improved patented production process: The EVAPORE process provides a more environmentally friendly alternative to membrane production.
