Evonik, a specialty chemical supplier, at the 2017 China International Coatings Show

Evonik will participate in the 22nd China International Coatings Show from November 15th to 17th, 2017, demonstrating its extensive product portfolio in the coatings industry. This is the company's first appearance at the most important coatings exhibition in Asia after acquiring the special additives business of American Air Products. After the acquisition, Evonik has become a leading specialty chemical supplier in the coatings industry with more than 2,000 products, providing comprehensive and efficient solutions.

Evonik's international business is divided into six regions. Evonik's North Asia region includes China, Taiwan, Japan and South Korea, with regional headquarters in Shanghai. In 2016, Evonik's sales in North Asia reached 1.947 billion euros. At present, Evonik has approximately 3,000 employees and 10 production sites in China. 

In January of this year, Evonik integrated the coating additives business line, the coating business of the silica business line, and the specialty additives business of Air Products, and focused on the base wetting agent. In July, Evonik merged its isophorone chemicals business and epoxy curing agent business into a new crosslinker business line. These measures will help Evonik significantly expand its product portfolio and strengthen its leading position in the coatings industry. 

In September this year, Evonik's new factory in Shanghai was completed and put into production, producing a variety of silicone surfactants. The new plant's products can be widely used in polyurethanes, paints and coatings, as well as in many industrial applications. With the new plant, Evonik can support customers in Asia faster and more flexibly.
