Evonik launches a versatile bio-based TEGO® Foamex 18 defoamer for architectural coatings

Evonik has further expanded its existing product portfolio of coating additives and launched the newly developed TEGO® Foamex 18 defoamer. 98% of the raw material of the defoamer is derived from vegetable oil prepared from renewable resources. It is the first bio-based defoamer developed by Evonik for the architectural coatings market.

The "bio-based" feature is not the whole story of a high-quality defoamer. In fact, the architectural coatings industry has many requirements for high-quality defoamers, including good resistance, compliance with eco-label certification, the widest possible scope of application, and reliable defoaming performance. Evonik's newly developed TEGO® Foamex 18 defoamer can meet all the above requirements.
