Evonik Industries, the world's leading specialty chemicals company, will participate in the 2019 Düsseldorf International Plastics and Rubber Show (K Show) from October 16 to 23, focusing on its leading high-performance polymers and specialty additives Product portfolio. The company's booth is located in Booth B28, Hall 6. This exhibition is also an offline practice of "Evonik makes life better" brand promotion activities, which aims to show the public how Evonik products and solutions can make daily life safer, more comfortable and healthier.
Evonik's high-performance polymer portfolio includes the VESTAMID® polyamide series, which has been used in the automotive industry, industrial production, and consumer applications for more than 50 years. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the birth of polyamide 12 elastomer (PEBA). With outstanding performance and design freedom, PEBA has become a popular and trusted material-especially in the sports equipment industry. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of PEBA, Evonik will launch a new member of the product series, whose transparency and gloss will give designers unprecedented degrees of freedom in design, far exceeding PEBA.
Evonik invested about 400 million euros, which will increase the company's existing polyamide 12 production capacity by more than 50% by 2021. This is also the largest investment project in Germany in Evonik history. Globally, VESTAMID® polyamide 12 and polyamide 612 are the most commonly used polyamide materials for automotive tubing. New application development will focus on conductive products as well as electric and hybrid vehicle applications.
Other products in this portfolio include the chemical-resistant transparent polyamide TROGAMID® and VESTAKEEP® PEEK for complex tribological and high-temperature applications. At the same time, Evonik is also a world leader in developing and manufacturing innovative polymer powders for 3D printing. Evonik VESTENAMER® is a thermoplastic additive that efficiently processes waste rubber into a strong material and minimizes energy consumption, making an important contribution to the recycling of rubber.
Evonik's special additive product portfolio includes crosslinkers, comonomers, pigment and filler dispersants, processing modifiers and functional modifiers, etc., serving masterbatch manufacturers and plastic modification customers. Evonik products help to improve the mechanical properties of the product, including but not limited to improving scratch resistance, improving flow, blocking resistance and anti-caking effects, and enhancing flame retardancy.
For example, Evonik's TAICROS® series of crosslinkers can be used for printed circuit boards that comply with 5G cellular standards. Triacetonamine derivatives, as an important part of light stabilizers, can also be used in applications such as stadium artificial turf. In 2018, Evonik completed a new round of acquisitions to add to its portfolio. The newly added ACCUEL® technology can "melt" liquids into solids, which allows the company's original TEGOMER® series solutions to improve fluidity and improve mechanical properties such as scratch resistance. A richer product portfolio helps customers better seize new development opportunities, such as improving flame retardancy, new developments in the packaging industry, and odor absorption, to make the use of recycled materials more sustainable.
