Evonik’s Chinese plant raises production of triacetone derivatives by 50%

Evonik Tianda (Liaoyang) Chemical Auxiliary Co., Ltd. (ETL), a joint venture established between Evonik Industrial Group and China Nengjian Dongdian First Company, has increased the production capacity of triacetoneamine derivatives by 50%. To meet growing market demand.

Triacetoneamine derivatives are important precursors for the production of hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS). The additive is used at low concentrations to improve the stability of polymers under light, oxygen, and high temperatures. The service life of plastics can be extended up to 10 times. It is widely used in the automotive and construction industries, and in the production of agricultural films.

Yao Zhong, general manager of Evonik Tianda, said: "The new production capacity enables us to better support the growth of our customers and serve the global market more effectively." The plant expansion started in 2017 and was successfully completed in March of this year.

"We have more than 30 years of successful experience in the global triacetone derivatives market," said Thomas Wildt, head of the agrochemicals and polymer additives business line. "Investment in the Liaoyang plant has further strengthened our leading position in triacetone amine derivatives, in line with our strategy of focusing on the chemicals business." Evonik expects this market to continue to grow in the next few years.

Evonik is the world's leading supplier of triacetoneamine and its derivatives, providing a variety of triacetoneamine derivatives (such as hexamethylenediamine piperidine, triacetoneamine) and customized products. In addition to the Liaoyang plant in Liaoning Province, Evonik also has a production base in the German Chemical Industry Park.
