On May 13, ExxonMobil said it had completed the expansion of its specialty elastomers plant in Newport, Wales, UK. ExxonMobil has added two production lines locally, doubled its production capacity and increased the company's global production capacity for Santoprene thermoplastic elastomers by 25%.
Santoprene belongs to a group called thermoplastic vulcanizates (TPV), and the main end market is automotive. ExxonMobil also produces Santoprene thermoplastic elastomers in Pensacola, Florida.
